Perhaps you had a loved one who passed on and had their funeral all planned out. Did the family appreciate it? They likely did because they didn’t have to worry about wondering what their loved one wanted. They didn’t have to rush about, organizing when they should have been spending time with one another. And they usually don’t even have to pay for the service either. It’s very helpful indeed. If you’re thinking about your own final services  and you really want to go with direct cremation, there’s no reason why you can’t plan that out in advance as well. Planning a direct cremation is simpler than going through with a traditional funeral, but you have plenty of options to consider.

Direct Cremation Dictates Some ServicesIndian Trail, NC funeral home and cremations

If you go with direct cremation, you know one thing for certain. Your body will not be present at any memorial in its current form. Direct cremation dictates that you go directly to cremation not long after you pass on. It’s a cost-effective way to deal with things and your loved ones don’t have to worry about transporting you anywhere for further services. But direct cremation doesn’t decide everything and you will still want to plan a few other items to make what you want clear for your loved ones.

What Happens After Direct Cremation?

Just because you plan to be cremated shortly after your death doesn’t mean you can’t have some type of memorial. You may not want much fuss and you simply want to tell your loved ones what you wish as far as your remains go. You can still be buried in an urn, for example, or you can tell certain family members that you’d like them to keep your urn in their homes. Perhaps you want to be scattered in a certain location. It’s nice to lay this out for your family so they know just what to do. You can also set up a memorial service, if you wish to have one after your direct cremation. The service can be held in a funeral home or it can be something simple and short in a park or in your loved one’s backyard. This is your chance to tell your family what you want for your final services.
