When someone passes on from your life, you feel shock at first. As you come to terms with their death, your family moves forward with cremation in Indian Land, NC. There may not be a grave to visit or a headstone to go see. How can you pass that person’s memory along to future generations without such things? There are plenty of ways. Here are a few to consider:

Create A Memorial Location

If your loved one is cremated, they can still be buried, if that is what your family chooses. The burial plots are smaller, but there can still be headstone or marker of some kind. If your family doesn’t go that route, you can create a memorial location in another way. Dedicate a park bench to them, for example, complete with a name plaque. Buy a memorial brick in a special location and put their name on that. The options are endless and they give you a place to go when you want to think about that person.

Pass Memorial Items Along

The person who passed on may have left a lot of items behind. You can use those to pass their memory along in future years. If they have jewelry, for example, distribute the special pieces among family members and then pass those pieces down through the generations along with stories of your loved one. You can use almost anything from their home as a memorial item and hold it near and dear to your family.

Utilize The Ashes

When someone is cremated, their ashes remain, and it is up to your family what you do with those ashes. Some families like to scatter them in a special location while others like to keep them close. If your family places them in the urn, that urn is a special memorial that can be passed along as well. If the family is large and everyone wants the urn, the ashes can be broken up into mini-urns or even specialty items, like picture frames with small urns in the back, necklaces that hold ashes, and other such items. The ashes themselves can be used to pass along a person’s memory.
